So I have been allocated to the studio group "DISTRIBUTED 2 : TRANSPROGRAMMING" with Cameron Thiessen.
The theme group selection blurb is as follows;
"The traditional symbolism of Governance as part of the built fabric of the city...is it necessary to have a “seat of power”?
Distributed, overlapping, complex, decentralised. "Transprogramming", combining several types of overlapping program within the distributed network of the "Capital"."
Based on Cameron's work profile, it looks like I could gain some insight in to the 'public space' realm of design - which I'm quite excited about, as I have a keen interest in urban design. I'm looking forward beginning my design process within this theme group.
I will try to read the Alexander reading, "A City is not a tree" over the next few days.
